Respecting Diversity training course, 3-6 March 2009, Iasi, Romania

British Council Romania is organising a training workshop under the Respecting Diversity project.

The aim of the Respecting Diversity project is to improve the awareness and quality of diversity work among Romanian youth:

1. by building the competence and capacity of non governmental organisations, working with young people, which are, or wish to become, active in the area of diversity;

1. and by increasing the know-how of these organisations in accessing European funds, principally Youth in Action programme funds, in order to develop international and domestic youth projects and initiatives.


Representatives of youth NGOs active or wishing to become active in the area of diversity from Romania , Bulgaria and the United Kingdom can apply now to register for this training course.

The participants should:

- have current or recent experience of working in youth projects
- be open to exploring inter-cultural awareness
- have an interest in personal and organisational development in the field of diversity
- be willing to experiment with different training approaches
- be able to understand written and spoken English and to communicate effectively in English
- have the support of their senior management to apply for European funds
- demonstrate the interpersonal skills appropriate to working with young people – for example motivation, enthusiasm, sensitivity, sense of humour, listening skills

British Council is covering the costs of accommodation and meals during the training, the travel costs have to be covered by the participants.
